Welcome! Thank you for visiting our site. This is the place where I will keep you up-to-date on the who, what, where, and when in our classroom. Welcome to the wonderful world of first grade! Your child and I are together for only one school year, and I want to make a contribution that will last a lifetime.
You are the most important people in your child’s life, and I would like to partner with you on making this a good year for everyone.
I sincerely want to help your child reach his/her fullest potential. An important part of your child’s schooling involves open communication between parent and teacher. Please feel free to contact me by note or phone if you have any questions, concerns, or information, about your child that you feel I should know, i.e. interests, likes, dislikes, fears, sensitivities, etc.
Homework is also an important part of your child’s education. Homework is an extension of what we learn in school. It is important that homework be completed in a positive environment for learning. Please review and sign homework daily. Of course, please also continue to read with your child. As your child gets older, discussion about the literature also becomes valuable. I find reading to children to be a great opportunity for me to learn about new things along with the children.
Thank you in advance for being a partner with me in your child’s first grade experience.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year.
