

WELCOME TO MRS. GIANIODIS'FIRST GRADE CLASS
Hello, my name is Mrs. Gianiodis. I would like to share with you some facts about myself. I am happily married to a fabulous man for 16 years. We are blessed with two lovely children. I started teaching in this district as a fourth grade teacher. Then I moved to third grade where I taught for over a dozen years. Finally I became a first grade teacher. This is my fifth year teaching first grade. I'M LOVING IT! I am fortunate to be teaching such a creative, caring, and challenging class of students.
SPECIAL SUBJECTS SCHEDULE
WORK YOU CAN DO AT HOME1. Read at least 20 minutes with your child everyday. Have your child retell the story in sequence back to you. Your child should be able to recall setting, characters, problem, and solution. 2. Review all sight word cards daily. 3. Have your child practice writing by keeping a journal at home. 4. Use the number grid to practice math facts, more than, less than, skip counting, and so on. 5. Play store-count different amounts of money using quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. Make change using fewer coins. 6. Use an analog clock to tell time to the whole hour, half, quarter after, and quarter before.
