Ash Puttaswamy, Psy.D., NCSP
Welcome! As a nationally-certified, district school psychologist, based in the Highland Falls Intermediate School, my mission is to facilitate students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success in school. The goal is to achieve this through assessment, early intervention, counseling, and consultation with the classroom teachers, as well as by working with families and outside services to provide wraparound support.
For more information about what school psychologists do, please see the document below, created by the National Association of School Psychologists. Below are also some links to local and national resources for student and family assistance with special education services and common mental health difficulties.
In addition, as the Highland Falls Intermediate School Section 504 Coordinator, I've included our Notice of Parent/Student Rights file, with regards to this section of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. If you are a parent/guardian of a student with a Section 504 accommodation plan, you will also receive this notice by mail, with your annual review meeting information.
Additionally, if you are interested, you may follow me on Twitter (@DrCoachP), where I post more time-sensitive resources for students and their families.
