Principal's BioMr. Michael McElduff is starting his 5th year in Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District. This will be his third year as the Highland Falls Intermediate principal.
Prior to joining the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District, Mr. McElduff was an administrator for Poughkeepsie City School District, serving as the assistant principal at their middle school. Mr. McElduff started his educational career 13 years ago as a third-grade teacher in the Beacon City School District.
Mr. McElduff developed a passion for literacy as a classroom teacher and has carried that with him to the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District. Along with other members of the school district, Mr. McElduff has started a reading initiative throughout the community called B.E.A.R. which stands for Books Everywhere, Always Reading. With the help of the community, Mr. McElduff has successfully installed 6 community libraries across the district. The motivation behind this initiative is to make books accessible to everyone in the community.
Collaboration and communicating are the keys to having a successful school year. With the help of the faculty, families, and most importantly the students, the sky's the limit at the Highland Falls Intermediate School. We look forward to another amazing year and can’t wait to see everyone on the first day of school!
