    Section 100.5 of the Commissioner Regulations 100.5 specifies that all students in New York State must complete one unit of credit in the arts as part of the requirements for a high school diploma.

    About me:

    I graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas College summa cum laude (BA Fine Arts Education) certified Art K-12, wih a minor in Art Therapy, and  Fordham University summa cum laude (MS Counseling and Personnel Services) certified School Counselor. 

    My main college interests were (BA) Ceramics/Sculpture, Art History, Photography, 3-dimensional design, Printmaking (wood and copper engraving), silversmithing/jewelry making, Painting, Drawing, Psychology, Art Therapy, (MS) Art as Therapy, Neuropsychology, Counseling, and Women's Issues. I conducted field research in Art Therapy, performed individual counseling and facilitated group counseling.  I have done clinical research in eating disorders, suicide prevention and intervention, anxiety, phobias, and taken workshops in Critical Incident Stress Management and Art Therapy.

    I have exhibited 2 & 3 dimensional works at Hopper House Gallery, Rockland Center for the Arts, Arts Council of Rockland, St. Thomas Aquinas College, and worked as a docent at Piermont Flywheel Gallery and other area galleries.  I have also taught adult education courses in painting and drawing.

    I have served on various Congressional committees: Educational Advisory Committee and Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee, Women's Forum, Gala Ball Committee. I have been nominated to Who's Who of America's Teachers several years in a row and Who's Who in American Business Women. 

    My personal interests include horses, hiking, nature, photography (nature and natural abstracts are favorites), playing the piano, reading/writing, music, drawing, painting, 3-dimensional works, gardening, art and history museums, genealogy, animal welfare, psychology/art therapy, latest developments in veterinary research, equine wellness. I enjoy spending time with my horses, pets, family, and friends.
