BOCES Capital Project Vote: October 25, 2022, Noon - 8PM

On October 25, 2022, Orange-Ulster BOCES will hold a vote on their proposed capital project to make improvements and updates to their facilities at the Gibson Road and Arden Hill campuses.  There will be a polling location open at the Highland Falls Intermediate School gymnasium from Noon - 8PM.
Below is information regarding the financial details of the project both in general and specific to the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery CSD community:
- Total estimated BOCES-wide cost of the project: $159 Million
- HFFMCSD share of the estimated cost: $3.2 Million
- BOCES will finance the project using a 20 year bond through the Dormitory Authority of the State of NY (DASNY).  Over the 20 years of the bond, the interest will bring the total cost of the project to over $268 Million and the total cost of the HFFMCSD share to approximately $5.5 Million.
- HFFMCSD will receive State Aid over the life of the bond, which will bring the total local share down to approximately $2.6 Million.  This translates to an average increase of $55 - $72 to the school taxes for a taxpayer owning a $300,000 valued home in the Town of Highlands.
